In honour of celebrating and supporting the NZ Breast Cancer Society, BestStart Wolverton Street were ready to fundraise with many fun and very PINK activities for our Tamariki!  Our Tamariki enjoyed face painting, manicures, baking and decorating cupcakes and we even had our very own Hair Salon set up for Tamariki haircuts!  From all of the funds raised on the day and some wonderful generous donations, BestStart Wolverton Street fundraised a massive total of $1,470.00

We seek to work in partnership with families, Whanau and the wider community to support our Tamariki achieve their learning potential, and in support of this great cause we had a lot of Parents/Whanau who took time out of their day and lent a helping hand with the many activities that took place. It was an integral part of our event to include Whanau as this will support and foster a sense of belonging for both our Tamariki and their Whanau. We encourage our Whanau to participate so they can be included in the curriculum and in their Tamariki’s learning and development.

Our Tamariki were super excited for all the activities, they displayed beautiful curiosity and confidence, patience and wonderful collaboration, as fine motor skills were developed through painting, decorating cupcakes and play dough, reciprocal positive interactions and relationships were built through learning and play and our Tamariki displayed a lot of playfulness with all the fun that was surrounding them! Thank you again to all our wonderful Whanau helpers, our day couldn’t have been a success without your giving hearts!

We will always embrace and live our Centre Vision and our Pink Day was yet another example of our Vision in action!  Our hearts go out to everyone who has battled or is battling the journey of Breast Cancer; we wore Pink with passion and pride in support and for some in loving memory.
