Lockdown Fun with BestStart North Harbour
Lockdown was filled with so much fun and catch up with our tamariki and their whanau!
Level 4 Lockdown may have interrupted our routine but we have turned it around into something positive. The team at BestStart North Harbour took advantage of the time that we were at home by connecting to our children and their family. Zoom mat time is always a "look forward to" event. We created a theme every mat time. We come dress up as our favourite superhero character to acknowledge the dads during Father’s Day. We organised Zoom graduation celebration to send off our children to school. It was memorable and special for the graduates and their family. We celebrated children's birthdays and many more. Online teaching was available to ensure that our children are keeping up with their learning. There was a variety of online exploration, from singing songs to baking, messy play, playdough, growing vegetables, healthy eating, science and nature. We discovered many talents among the teachers. Some of the skills include music, storytelling, experiments and many more. Our tamariki were so thrilled and excited to explore and try new ideas. Our children are keeping up with their learning at home and also keeping their parents busy alongside them.
At Level 3 we welcomed the children back and we continue supporting our children that are staying at home. We received wonderful photos and stories from home. This is a great example that our effort in keeping BestStart@Home going is all worth it. We love hearing stories from home. We are happy knowing that our children thrive during the lockdown period.
