Look who came to play at BestStart Morrinsville
One of our whaanau bought their pet lambs to daycare recently. The tamariki were so excited when they saw the lambs arrive. After a while of patting the lambs and playing with them, we got to feed them their bottles! This was so much fun!
Everyone had the opportunity to hold a bottle to feed a lamb. Once the lambs had finished their breakfast, the tamariki had the opportunity to hold their leads and take them for a walk. The tamariki loved showing the lambs around their daycare! The tamariki loved having this opportunity to touch, feed, lead, and learn about the lambs. It was an amazing experience to have the lambs come to daycare!
This experience allows tamariki to learn more about the world around them as well as how we can care for animals. Since this fun time of having the lambs come and visit us at daycare, there have been many conversations had about the lambs, what they are doing now and how they will grow into adult sheep.
The tamariki learnt how to hold the lambs bottles and how to lead them around in a kind way. This supports our growing knowledge of how to be a kind, thoughtful leader within our world.
