In our preschool classrooms, play dough is very popular with the children.  Each morning they get to help set the table up with what they want to use and on the day chose an assortment of loose parts, including wooden rounds, pebbles, googley eyes, match sticks and many other bits and pieces that they find interesting.  This experience provides a hive of activity, with many children engaged for long periods of time.  It's great to see the creations and works of art the children created both together and individually.  Every master piece was unique and had its own creative style.
