Lots of October fun!
Here at BestStart Maui Street we have had a lovely change in weather which meant we could finally have some water play.
We have also been doing a lot of messy play activities. We built clay dinosaurs and even made beautiful bead bracelets.
It is great to see our children developing and increasing ability to determine their own actions and make their own choices.
We always aim to let the children help in our day to day tasks, we take turns letting each child help push the kai trolley to the room or bringing the laundry to the basket in the corridor. This enables the children to feel like they are important, it teaches them a sense of responsibility and promotes positive behaviour.
During mealtimes we teach our children to scrape their dishes and put it back on the trolley, again teaching them independence and responsibility.
During the month of October, we had a dress up day where all the children showcased their favourite costumes and dress up from home. This created more bonding between the children and helped the new children make friends.
We had Raj make his famous butter chicken as a fundraising for our tamariki’s Christmas party, and oh boy was it a hit amongst parents.
We look forward to seeing what great things November has in store for us.
