At BestStart Napier Central, during lockdown we thoroughly enjoyed BestStart Learning at Home. Our teachers were creative, nurturing and passionate and we were able to maintain a connection with our centre whānau through sharing videos, photos, art inspiration, baking, experiments, story-telling and more. We were able to see into each other’s home rituals and we loved seeing family pets, daily surroundings and talking to one another.

Our centre furry friends, our Guinea Pigs and our fish and birds were taken care of by our lovely teachers, Sharon and Jolene who fed and cared for them during lockdown. Jolene took an amazing video for us to see how they were doing. We then got to see some of the centre whānau loved pets at home. Through doing BestStart at Home, we were able to maintain our relationships with children and families so once we were back into the centre, we were able to reconnect quickly and happily.
