Loving our sandpit!
The weather has slowly but surely started warming up, which means nga tamariki o Nga Tipu have been taking full advantage of this.
Lately, we have absolutely loved exploring mahi toi (art) within the outside environment. Engaging in these experiences give tamariki and kaiako the opportunities to korero and make meaning in language and colours. These experiences also provide opportunities for tamariki to build on and develop their fine motor skills.
Tamariki also enjoy spending a lot of time in the onepu (sandpit). Tamariki love to fill, tip and pour, build and smash, and feel the sand between their fingers and toes. The onepu has been a great space for creating friendships as tamariki practice their teamwork, turn-taking, and communication skills.
