Making our own graduation korowai
The transition to school is a big milestone for a child turning 5. At BestStart Parkside we celebrate Graduation to school with the child being presented his or her very own korowai. Kaiako Viv is seen here sewing the korowai, while the children are watching with awe and fascination. Later the child decorates his or her korowai ready for the big day. Children are learning about technology, the process of making something meaningful out of fabric and other materials put together.
