Our preschool children have been making bird feeders, to give the birds something yummy to snack on with the colder weather we have at the moment.  We started off with covering the pine cones with some honey.  This was very exciting as some of the children were soon to discover that the honey was yummy!

They very carefully applied the honey to the pine cones, before then rolling the pine cones into some bird seed.  Then we hung them outside for the feast for the birds to begin.

This is a great way to teach our children about caring for others and nature.
