Matariki is a time for us and whanau to come together to feast, waiata, korero and connect as we celebrate the past year. 

One of the traditions of Matariki was kite flying to signify the beginning of Matariki. 

Although our kite does not fly, it does represent our BestStart Alexandra Whanau with our tamariki working together and/or contributing to it in some way. Whanau were invited to bring a piece of cloth or clothing to weave into our kite. 

Our manu tukutuku looks magnificent floating from the rafters!
