Matai Room Fun
This week in the Matai room, 28th August-1st September 2023. We have been having fun playing with the bubbles. As we have been blowing them we have been counting them and saying "pop!" It has been a definite favourite this week. Many of our Tamariki have also been saying "bubble".
Spring is definitely here, and we have been looking after our vegetables in the veggie pod. Everything is growing! We are learning how to be Kaitiaki of Papatuanuku.

Our favourite song to sing on there is "row row row your boat." We have been taking turns on the slide, this has been lots of fun. We count "one, two , three, go!" And give each other a clap as we slide to the bottom. This links to The Whāriki through the strand Contribution/Mana Tangata, Tamariki use a range of strategies and skills to play and learn with others/the ngākau Aroha.
We have been spending some quiet times with our friends and have also been playing games of peek-a-boo! This game is great for children to learn object permanence and social interaction. Playing together also allows us to discover different ways to be creative and expressive (Te Whāriki 2017). Hope you had a great weekend and happy Father's Day!
