On Thursday the 27th of June, we continued our Matariki celebrations. We came together again as a whole centre and shared a variety of Maori stories. With each story shared, we were able to explore the myths and legends that play a significant part in the Maori culture.

Every culture has its traditions surrounding the creation of the world, and the Maori culture shares these through their myths and legends. The Preschool chose to share one of their favourite myths around the Giant of Lake Wakitipu. To unite our Warrington whanau at the end, we provided a shared kai for the tamariki. This created a real sense of whanaungatanga as the tamariki shared their hard work making the kai and eating it together. Thank you to all the tamariki and kaiako who helped make this celebration possible.
