We at BestStart Dixon Heights wish everyone a Happy Matariki/Maori New Year. What an eventful week for kaiako and tamariki as we celebrate Matariki together. Along with kite flying, waiata and dance, and making stars, we have had a mini production with our tamariki. We have also helped prepare vegetables for our special kai that we made – soup and yummy bread. This is our first year where Aotearoa/New Zealand has celebrated Matariki with a Public Holiday, and we hope everyone has a lovely time together on this special day.
