BestStart Borman celebrated Matariki with parakuihi (breakfast) with our whaanau coming together as many cultures, one family. The children were invited to take part in Matariki activities such as kite making, star cookie decorations and Matariki playdough. One this same day we also celebrated our centre 2nd birthday. This was a very whaanau orientated morning which allowed our families and teachers to connect as one family. Some of the main purposes for Matariki is to kotahitanga (be one), manaakitanga, and reflect on the year before then to wish good health, wealth and prosperity for the new year.
