At BestStart Vardon, we had an incredible week celebrating Matariki with our tamariki and whānau. We started by hosting a dinner for our whānau followed by a performance. Ngā Tamariki danced their hearts out when they learned the names of the Seven Sisters in the Matariki Macsrena! Throughout the week we imagined and explored how to make our own hangi in the classroom which led to a real fire experience where we roasted marshmallows. In addition we glued and glittered stars and whipped up some colourful pots to plant our very own seeds. To top it all off we built a new vegetable garden and a mandarin tree!
