Kia ora e te whanau

We love catching the pahi to Turanga once a month alongside our other excursions that we go on each week. Turanga is so exciting as we get to walk down to the pahi stop, watch all of the happenings around us and hop on for a ride to the city. We have a short walk to the library and when we arrive we take on the stairs up to the top where lego land is to create and build. We then experience the variety of dresses on offer before heading to wa korero.

Today's wa korero was special as our kaiako told us a story about Matariki! We are beginning to celebrate this within our space at Preschool, gaining knowledge around each whetu and their purpose. It was great to make this connection and have it told by our library kaiako who is very capturing, using pukapika and puppet play. The trip back was just as exciting as today we got to see the tram drive past us! We had a short moment to spare by eating some kai at the pahi stop and hopped back on. Our tinana got a rest before walking back to Preschool.

Tuakana led the way, demonstrating to our teina how to look safely across the road each way before crossing. Another excursion full of opportunity, happiness and exploration.
