Meet Micky and Minnie
In the Purerehua Room at BestStart Dixon Heights we have been lucky enough to be given 2 budgies. Ngaa tamariki had a special mat time to name them, Mickey and Minnie.
Ngaa tamariki are involved in all aspects of looking after Mickey and Minnie. They really enjoy this part and there are always many helpers each day.
By having animals in the centre, we are making firm links to our Centre Vision of "Nurture Through Nature, where the knowledge gained by tamariki's actions is vital learning , as they learn how to care for our environment and the living things in it.
