Kia Ora Whanau, My Name is Jade Barbour, I am the Centre Manager here at Ōmokoroa BestStart. I spent the start of my ECE career working in Australia from 2012 - 2020. After the birth of our daughter, we decided to make the move home to New Zealand to be around our Family and Friends. I was born here in New Zealand and grew up locally as did my husband. We have two beautiful children, Ainsley and Archie, who both join me here in our wonderful centre. I am loving being a part of the Ōmokoroa BestStart family and look forward to making memories with you and your tamariki.

My Teaching Philosophy: The early years of a tamariki's is life is busy. I believe learning is happening all the time and is interwoven through all developmental areas. Tamariki learn through play and need to be assured they are being loved and cared for while they enjoy an educational environment. I strive to provide a child-led educational program that empowers tamariki to learn at their own pace and to provide them with opportunities to master new challenges, initiate their own learning experiences, and to give them the opportunities to explore, discover, create, and imagine.
