Pīwakawaka - Nursery Our classroom is set up to support 0-2 year olds to explore, achieve new challenges and grow and learn alongside each other. We have a nest space for our younger children/tamariki to explore with a kaiako away from the hustle and bustle of the busy toddlers. We love participating in messy play and painting experiences with the children/tamariki. We encourage independence through roll modelling and given the tamariki/children opportunities to lead. We love spending time outside when the sun is shinnying and getting out on trips in our community. Our team - Tracee is the head-teacher of this room and is currently on maternity leave, returning in the new year. She has been teaching for many years across a wide range of ages of children/tamariki as well as teaching overseas. In her spear time, she loves going down to the beach with her 2 dogs and getting out on the water with her husband on their boat Danielle is covering as head-teacher for Tracee while she is away. She has been teaching for 5 years and been at St Albans the longest of the longest of the Pīwakawaka - Nursery team. In her spear time she loves going tramping, camping and on travel adventures with her partner. She also is often at her Judo dojo, training and coaching the kid’s classes. Bree is our newest member to the Pīwakawaka - Nursery team, recently returning from her maternity leave. She has been teaching within BestStart for 8 years and spend more time teaching outside of beststart. In her spear time she enjoys spending time with her whanau/family listening to a range of music and watching movies Courtney is our teacher-in-training as well as shares the cooks role with one of the other teachers/kaiako. She was inspired by watching her own children grow which made her want to go into early childhood teaching. In her spear time she loves going to the park and swimming with her family as well going on road trips We would love it if you came in to visit us!
