Liana:

My name is Liana and I am the Centre Manager at BestStart Halswell Junction.

I have been teaching since 1999 and to this day continue to find working with children my true passion.

I am very passionate about ensuring children are immersed in an environment based around trust and respect that will challenge and nurture them until they are ready to venture off to Primary School.

I highly value relationships with our community and everyone that comes in to our centre and believe in working closely with children’s family and extended family.

I look forward to showing you around our truly beautiful centre.

Diane:

My name is Diane and I am the Centre Administrator at BestStart Halswell Junction.

I have the pleasure of watching your children arrive to the centre eager and happy to get into their learning environment and then watching them leave with a smile on their face as they share the details of their day with their parents and family.

I am here to help you with any questions you may have while your family joins the BestStart family of learners and I look forward to meeting you and helping you settle into our fantastic centre where Heroes come to play.

Melissa:

Kia Ora! My name is Melissa and I am one of the nursery teachers, here at BestStart Halswell Junction.

I am in my last year of my bachelor of teaching degree.

I have a passion for providing quality care, support, learning and a thriving environment for our tamariki.

Outside of work I love to spend time with my whanau and getting outdoors!

Anneke:

My name is Anneke and I have been working as an early childhood teacher since 2017. I completed my degree in early childhood education through Open Polytechnic in 2018 and worked as a reliever for BestStart before taking on my full time role in the nursery here at BestStart Halswell Junction.

My three children drove my desire to understand child development and work in this amazing industry where teachers play a key role in education and care. I get joy in knowing that through my role, I can positively influence every child's learning journey in so many different ways.

My time teaching has helped develop my philosophy. I believe that children learn best in a safe, clam, secure, warm and loving environment that is stimulating and engaging where their basic needs are met. I know the foundation of learning and interaction a child receives at a young age will directly impact their future learning therefore I aim to teach and care give in an intentional and positive way with passion. I strive to know the child as a whole, who they are and where they come from and will incorporate their whanau and wider community into our Centre community.

It is my hope that children who come through our centre leave with a true love of learning.
