Welcome to our supporting whānau We have Ashley, Candace and Carol.

Kia Ora whānau My name is Ashley and I am proud to be the Centre Manager here at BestStart Somerset. I have been apart of this family for many years, working in many different roles. I am from Huntly and I live there with my husband and three tamariki. I am passionate about creating an all-inclusive learning environment where not only our tamariki, but our kaiako, parents and whānau feel they have a place to feel safe to be themselves and to feel the aroha and support offered to them. I enjoy watching our tamariki as they blossom and grow into confident and competent learners.

Kia Ora, I’m Candace. Originally from Rotorua and have lived in Hamilton with my husband and 2-year-old son for the last year – this city is a lot colder! I am new to ECE, and am enjoying my admin role at Somerset. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know all of our tamariki and watching them achieve their milestones, develop friendships, and become awesome little humans. Outside of work, we have a lot of family adventures, finding new cafes and parks to explore, and visiting the many townships around. Thank you for making me part of the BestStart Somerset whanau!

Hi, my name is Carol, I am the Centre Cook here at BestStart Somerset Street. I live on the outskirts of Hamilton and have a life style block. I love to garden which takes up a lot of my spare time. I am enjoying my new role here and the tamariki make my day. They love to be included with what is happening in the kitchen and I love to foster their health relationship with kai. Having four children and 12 grandchildren of my own, there is never a dull moment!
