Messy play helps tamariki with developing their fine motor skills such as hand-eye coordination and strong hand and finger muscles which links in to their learning to write journey. Messy play also helps with brain development through the concepts of language development, social skills, colour and texture recognition. This is also essential when tamariki are learning the important skill of feeding themselves, they will get messy during this time but it is important to their learning and development.
While engaging in this very important learning concept, your tamariki will get messy and we ask that you please send them with plenty of changes of clothes and clothes that are ok to get dirty in.
