After lunch the tamariki get the opportunity to have some quiet time. This allows them to take some time for themselves, read a book, rest their mind and body.

Our tamariki have been learning about mindfulness and what that means for them. Keeping themselves safe and being able to express themselves effectively, encourages them to identify different emotions and that it is ok to feel these.

Quiet time brings us all together. It allows for relationships to develop among the tamariki and kaiako. Reading books enhances literacy skills, but most importantly, we are taking care of ourselves first, then each other.

Hapaitia te ara tika pumau ae te rangatiratanga mo nga uri whakatipu - foster the pathway of knowledge to strength, independence and growth for future generations.
