Mother's Day Celebrations
Kia Ora BestStart whānau and welcome to the blog for the Manaaki room at BestStart Highfield, Timaru. To celebrate Mother's Day this year all the tamariki were keen to help make their mum or close caregiver a special poster to take home and keep. After a little help and encouragement from the Kaiako, the tamariki were able to paint their hand prints onto the paper. With all the handprints hanging up to dry for the rest of the day, they were then ready for the Kaiako to cut them out.
Once all the hand prints were done it was then time for clean faces and a happy, cheeky, or cute smile for the camera. These photos were then added to the poster alongside the hand prints. The poster was then laminated all ready to give out the Friday before Mother's Day was celebrated. Another Kaiako in the Manaaki room made some extra footprints and turned them into a rose garden display for the wall.
All the mothers and/or close caregivers were so very thankful for the thought and to get a special gift for this year's Mother's Day.
