Mother's Day High Tea at BestStart Albany
We had such a wonderful Mother's Day high tea at BestStart Albany. We value the partnership with our Whanau and their contribution to our centre. Teachers decorated the centre with pink decorations and made the centre feel like a home away from home.
They also did baking with our Tamariki the day before to spoil all our amazing mums. All our mothers & grandmothers were impressed with the food we provided for them and the activities we did throughout the day. We were given some special presents for our raffle basket from our families and local businesses in which and sold the ticket to raise funds for the children's Christmas party this year. Our teachers worked really hard to make this day very special for all of us.
We also invited the mums to join the concert in the afternoon to sing and dance with us. It was amazing to see all the special musical talents they bring from different cultures. One of the mums from the Middle East shared with us that this is the first time that she could truly enjoy her time without missing her family - a little piece of home. She even shared some tears and this made such a strong connection with families. I feel so blessed to be part of this centre and the community.
