Mother's Day May

At BestStart MacDonald Street this May, we organised a delightful Mother's Day afternoon tea event. It was a special occasion where our young tamariki and dedicated kaiako had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with our wonderful, hard-working mothers and their families.

The afternoon provided a fantastic opportunity for our new staff members to connect with the whanau of our tamariki and engage in meaningful conversations. In the Te Tipu room, we prepared a delectable platter exclusively for the mothers attending the event. The platter was carefully curated to offer a delightful assortment of treats, reflecting the importance of the occasion. Our aim was to ensure that the mothers felt valued and appreciated for their remarkable efforts as caregivers.

To add a personal touch to the event, we arranged an art activity for the mothers to participate in and create a meaningful keepsake to take home. Each mother was provided with a canvas on which they could leave their handprint. This art piece served as a way to commemorate the mother's presence at the event. The mothers' names were beautifully inscribed alongside their handprints, creating a personalized memento that they could cherish for years to come.

It is so important for us to continue to have these special moments with our families and strengthen our relationships with Whanau, it makes raising their children so much easier.
