Muddy Messy Play!
We love messy play here at BestStart Puni road. It upholds our philosophy “Little People, Growing Roots, Happy Hearts, Sandy Boots.”
Water play and messy play are two of our infants and toddlers favourite types of play and they would do it everyday if they could. On this occasion we decided to fill up containers and pour it over different places in the garden. Some wanted to water our plants, some wanted to fill the sandpit with water but most of our children wanted to pour water over the dry mud.
To their surprise it eventually filled up and they had created a muddy puddle to splash in. During experiences like this our children are developing their working theories which happen through their experiences and interactions with the world.
These working theories are constantly being challenged and evolve their ideas and assumptions about everything they experience in their daily lives, even something as simple and getting messy in muddy puddles with their friends.
