Music and Dance

Children at BestStart Epsom love to sing, dance and play with musical instrument. We have a range of musical instruments with different sounds such as shakers, triangles, bells, drums, tapping sticks, castanet. The children play along to music developing their musical and physical skills.

Music is not just be an enjoyment but also provide experiences related to tempo and rhythm, pitch and volume, fast and slow. The children are developing a good sense of beat move with music in time clapping, hopping, jumping, swaying their bodies. They are provided with props such as scarves and pois.

Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.

Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression.  It helps the body and the mind work together. It is enjoyable, soothing and assist in the development of listening skills, concentration, co-ordination, cooperation, communication and memory as well as being a valuable resource for creativity,
