New Beginnings at BestStart Bader Street
As the new term began, we had a number of our tamariki begin their journey to school. We celebrated by having a graduation ceremony with the whanau of the tamariki who were graduating.
We were all so proud of each child, as they marched in front of their whanau wearing a korowai and graduation cap. Each child was presented with a certificate, book bag, a framed graduation picture, and their portfolio containing their learning stories from their time at Preschool. We were able to reminisce about their time spent at Preschool, the friends they had made, and the learning they had achieved.
Once the ceremony was over, we all shared a lovely morning tea with the whanau who had attended. By celebrating milestones like this with tamariki whom are leaving our centre, we are recognising and valuing the contribution that each child makes. We celebrate their individual strengths, their identity, and their potential.
One of our Bader Street priorities is to ensure smooth and successful transitions for tamariki. By helping children prepare for their next learning journey, we are setting them up for success, giving them the confidence to try new things, and empowering them to create their own ideas, develop knowledge and support them to enhance their own mana, and the mana of others. We wish all our recent graduates all the very best, and we look forward to hearing how they get on!
