New messy play experience with snow
The children in Tahi love to try out new messy play experiences, so this time we decided to find a new recipe and try it out. This time it was homemade snow... with dinosaurs.
We created the snow got the bowls, spoons and dinosaurs and got ready to explore. The children all had their own ideas about how they would like to explore the snow first. Some decided to get in there with their hands - squeezing, pushing and moving it around and watching it fall through their fingers. While others decided to explore the equipment watching the snow fall into their bowls or over the back of their dinosaurs.
We experimented with the snow working out different ways we could use it, and found we could even make snowballs! Well, this was very exciting, and some of our older children enjoyed seeing who could make the biggest one!
Through this experience, the children learn about how they can use their senses to learn more about the world around them. See, Touch, hear, smell, and taste are important ways to gain new information about anything within the environment. They are also learning about how they can use equipment to explore further.
Providing fun and engaging experiences are great ways to encourage children to play with and alongside each other. They get to explore a fun experience, build friendships with others and learn important skills like sharing and turn-taking, which will help them to extend friendships further.
