Kia ora whānau!

It has been a whirlwind of hammering, crafting, and colourful hair around the Ngā Puāwai room lately.

Over the past month, our tamariki have been diving deep into hands-on learning, creativity, and community spirit.

Carpentry has been an absolute favourite recently. It is wonderful to watch our young builders concentrate intensely as they learn how to safely use real tools, join materials, and bring their imaginative designs to life.

This builds fantastic hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and the look of pride on a child's face is always priceless! Our art tables have been just as busy. Children have been practising scissor skills, building the strength and control that supports future learning. We’ve also channelled this creativity into textured Halloween pumpkin collages, exploring different materials and shapes to make unique spooky masterpieces.

We were so proud to support the Child Cancer Foundation for Wig Wednesday! From wild neon spikes to colourful wigs, our tamariki and teachers had a blast showing off their crazy hairstyles. More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to talk about empathy and helping others.

A massive thank you to all our wonderful whānau for your generosity and ongoing support! Ngā mihi nui!
