Oscar the dog
Here at BestStart Buchanans Rd, we are so lucky to have a special regular visitor, Oscar the dog. Oscar belongs to one of our Preschool Kaiako, Annette, who brings Oscar in at least once a week for a morning visit with us. Oscar is a very patient and relaxed dog who has been an amazing support for the children. We find that Oscar can help children who are feeling insecure relax by giving him some soothing pats. He helps the children settle quickly into their day and he provides a focus for children to develop their understanding of responsibility and caring for a pet. We love our Oscar days!
