Our adventure on the fire truck!
When the fire crew arrived, you heard the screams of excitement from the children as they ran to the fence to watch the fire fighters climb out of the truck.
Then firefighter Cam came inside the centre he spent some time talking about fire safety and what to do to keep ourselves safe.
We were all very curious and courageous as we could see the inside of the truck, try on the helmet and touch some of the equipment.
The firefighters were very kind, calm and answered all our questions and demonstrated how they put on their uniform and the protective gear they needed. The noise that came from the mask was loud and unusual sound, however we were reassured not to be frightened when we see a firefighter come into our house as they are here to support us and keep us safe.
What an amazing experience and opportunity our tamariki had learning and discovering the many ways to keep ourselves safe in a fire, a fire fighters' role and all the equipment needed to put out fires.
