This year we have been exploring and talking about What is Art Deco.
We have looked at our research screen to see the old buildings in Napier, what the cars had loopked like and the music that people love dancing to.
We have talked about some of the costumes that we worn of beads, hats, dresses, shorts and pants, big shoes and lots of colours.
We love stepping back in time as we recognize these key events within our local area. This has been a great way to come together and share a day of delicious kai, with fun and laughter.
Our Derby races and sack races have been a lot of fun too. It was great to see many of our children wanting lots of turns at this and hearing the cheering to their friends from them too.
A high tea was enjoyed with Vicki and Dion. We have seen out of the cente windows some old cars drive past. we could hear their horns tooting.
The music was a real hit with lots of dancing under our feijoa tree. We had sack races which our children loved being part of. We talked about what the games would have been for the children back then, maybe some marbles, running races, egg and spoon too.
