Our baby's learning space
The settings and environments we provide for our babies has an important effect on how they learn, engage and make meaningful relationships with their teachers and peers. In our Kakano room we love creating beautiful spaces that invite our babies to explore in wonder as they use all their senses to process their new knowledge, developing "working theories".
Our early childhood curriculum Te Whariki describes "Working theories are developed through our experiences and interactions with the world. This happens as experiences and interactions serve to disrupt and challenge existing ideas and assumptions. It is through this process that new ways to respond and make meaning are learnt."
