Our Brand New Playground!

This month we celebrated the opening of our new playground, something BestStart Rongotai has been looking forward to for some time now.

Tamariki spent three weeks observing the construction of each area, talking with the construction workers, and getting very excited over the digger that would appear every few days.

When the first section of grass was revealed, tamariki and kaiako couldn't resist themselves, sitting and laying on the grass to feel how amazing it felt. It is very squishy and inviting. Tamariki have enjoyed exploring the new Musical Chimes, watching our new vegetables grow which have been planted in our new Vegetable Garden, and of course, our awesome new lazy river, which has been a big hit with tamariki exploring how the water comes out and watching it trickle its way into our new sandpit area, which has come equipped with a new water tank and ball track.

We are loving the new space, it looks great, feels so big and inviting and we have more options with what we can set up for tamariki to engage in and feel safe while doing it.
