Our Care Bears
The prep room is excited to kick off the new year by introducing two new friends to the prep room - Togetherness Bear and Do Your Best Bear.
These are Care Bears whose arrival we anticipate being any day now. The prep room kaiako hope that these bears will inspire our tamariki to develop and practice values and dispositions such as manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, perseverance, and responsibility. How do we hope to achieve this? Our tamariki will get the opportunity each week to take home one of these bears for the weekend by either ‘doing their best’ or ‘working well with their peers’. These values and dispositions link to our Te Whariki curriculum as well as the NZ school curriculum. Our intention is to help install Aroha into the heart of Wainoni, growing capable, kind caring tamariki is one way we can support this.
NB. Unfortunately with the nation being a red light, we will not be able to send these Bears home once they arrive. So let’s band together, follow the policies and guidelines both at preschool and in the community, and move down to orange soon! Until then, perhaps we can think of some alternative rewards!
