Our children get creative
During the celebration of Chinese Language Week, Ruru room’s tamariki and kaiako actively participated in rich and meaningful Chinese cultural learning experiences to promote Chinese language, arts and culture: greeting in Chinese, singing Chinese waiata, storytelling traditional Chinese legends, making Chinese lanterns and fans, painting Chinese calligraphy and dragon masks, and handcrafting Chinese national flags.
We had a fantastic engagement in Chinese culture and multiculturalism with a local sociocultural context. Tamariki’s learning dispositions were amazingly enhanced: engagement, appreciation, curiosity and co-construction.
We are so proud of our inclusive practice and outstanding contribution to cultural diversity development from Ruru room to the local community.
