Our Completed Sensorial Garden

There has been a lot of excitement recently with the completion of our sensorial garden. This garden has been a work in progress for quite a while! After a lot of weeding, relocation of pots, bulb removal, and donations of time and cuttings from parents, we finally have a sensorial garden full of herbs for children to tend to and taste. We relocated the oregano to a smaller pot as it was taking over our other garden!

We were gifted a variety of mint, parsley, red yarrow and lemon balm. We purchased thyme, curry, chocolate mint, pineapple sage, coriander and tarragon. We are enjoying tending to our garden, showing respect for papatuanuku, and testing the different flavours. We are finding that we don't all like the same plants but that is to be expected because our differences are what make us unique. We look forward to creating some potions with a mortar and pestle and maybe even some fruit teas once the plants are fully established.
