Recently we had an impromptu gym work out. One tamariki began to work out with the wooden blocks and used them as a weight to complete some shoulder presses. He was very keen to show me how big his muscles were. This drew in other nga tamariki who were also keen on a workout on such a cold inside day. Our personal trainer began his session with shoulder presses, then moved onto bicep curls, burpees, push ups and finally some bench presses. Nga kaiako joined in, and role modelled the names of each of the exercises. More and more nga tamariki joined the workout, and we had a big session enjoyed by all. This relates well to our current planning of hauora of healthy body and mind.
