Our Journey Begins Here!
There has been a lot happening here at BestStart Hanley’s Farm!
It has been so nice getting to know all of our tamariki (children) and meeting all of their whānau (family). We had been eagerly waiting to open our Infant Room and with the new fence and other building delays, it’s seemed like a long time coming - but we’re finally up and running!
In our Under 2’s Room, we have been having so much fun! We have been caring for ten, 0-2 year old tamariki (children) per day and our monthly topic whilst being open has "Animals". We broke this down into weekly themes having different themes per week, such as farm animals, zoo animals, house animals, and sea creatures.
We filled these weeks with fun intentional teaching such as sensory activities, art, fine/gross motor skills, messy play, stories, and many more activities. We will continue to help and support our tamariki (children) in their learning journey as our major focus is to bring the class together and help children develop healthy relationships, and positive behaviours while being a part of a fun, enjoyable and caring atmosphere.
Our children have settled into the environment and adapted to their centre routines so quickly. We are so proud of them and so excited to see where they will go!
