Our Kawakawa room
In the KawaKawa room at best start Papakura for the month of June, the children have been extremely busy, as we had a variety of themes every week which linked to the children's learning experiences and development . The themes that we focused on were bugs, farm animals, sea, sea creatures and dinosaurs, not forgetting our Samoan language week as well . There was a variety of learning experiences for our children to explore as well as enjoy, these experiences included learning about the Samoan traditional art, paintings, prayer, traditional meals as well as traditional stories, which a lot of our children were excited to go home an share with their families.
Our preschoolers loved all our themes for the month of June, the highlights for the month were having a closer look into insects by using magnifying glasses, digging deep holes in the sandpit to look for their hidden dinosaur fossils , using different parts of the dinosaur skeleton to be assemble as one complete dinosaur, building robots, burying our friends which they loved, building houses, an constructing tall towers using legos. What our preschoolers have been really enjoying is exploring with play dough an making what was instructed to them using our play dough mats. Our month of June has been amazing an the children got to take home a lot of new skills and concepts throughout this month.
