The infant and toddler room was abuzz with laughter and pride as children were photographed wearing a cloak. The korowai is a traditional Maori cloak worn as a mantle of prestige and honour. Whilst our cloak was not the traditional one, it gave tamariki  a sense of pride to engage in the making process and to wear it after. 

Our special kakahu (cloak) will be used for tamariki's graduation ceremonies.
