This term, our group interest in the Prep School is ‘Being Creative and Expressive’. To link to this interest, we were lucky enough to have a special visit from 3 Police Officers. Our tamarki love to play the role of Police Officers in their play while using their great imaginations, so you can just imagine how excited they were to have real Police Officers in their Prep School!  Our tamariki had lots of questions prepared, the Police showed us their clothing and equipment, they spoke about what the do and most of all that they are there to help people. Lastly our tamariki had the opportunity to try on the Police outfits, sit in the Police car, turn the lights and siren on and they even got to talk into car speaker phone.  Through questioning and listening all throughout the awesome experience today, our tamariki have learnt lots about the role of a Police Officer and we have already seen them put what they learnt today into their play. Such an awesome way to extend their amazing imaginations while linking real life experiences into their play.
