As a part of school holiday program, we did a yoga session with our tamariki in toddlers’ room. Yoga is something which supports achieve a peaceful body and mind. It helps manage stress and anxiety, also helps to improve flexibility. After receiving positive feedback from parents and also after seeing our toddlers being so focused and determined while doing the yoga section, we thought to incorporate yoga with our class room routines as it supports through their physical wellbeing and also it supports through their emotional well-being.

There are many benefits doing yoga in the classroom, such as it helps children to manage their anxiety, it supports to improve children’s emotional regulation, yoga increases children’s body awareness and mindfulness, it develops children’s flexibility and finally it teaches self-discipline and reduce impulsivity.

Since then every week we do yoga in the class room at least for three days a week and our all toddlers are loving it and they engage so well with the session.
