Our New Playground at BestStart Greerton
We have recently had our playground revamped and it's finally finished and we are absolutely loving it!
Our tamariki are enjoying exploring and mastering the new challenges it presents. We are lucky enough to have swings now too, which provide much-needed movement and ensure skills are developed and tested. We have seen much delight in achieving a goal on the monkey bars and facing fears as a child manages themself on the rock climbing wall.
We are all happy that our new equipment is movable so we can change the boxes and provide different structures between them. The skills these develop and not limited to gross-motor skills, balance and coordination alongside eye-hand coordination, and also many hours of having fun. We have noticed our tamariki are supporting each other to achieve their goal and figure out the necessary steps to get the swing to swing and keep it going.
We had a grand opening for all our whanau to enjoy seeing how we use our new amazing space. Our whanau feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and they are also enjoying seeing their tamariki exploring and having fun. Our centre is a hidden gem with this awesome new playground and this area is often a surprise for our visitors. We will continue to enjoy and grow experiences for all our whanau.
