Our New Playground at BestStart Waihi East

We have been very fortunate to recently have our playground in both Ngā Tuakana (Preschool) and Ngā Teina (Nursery) enhanced. We thank parents and whānau for the patience they have demonstrated whilst construction was occurring.

Our tamariki enjoyed watching the process of the upgrade and learning about the various tools and machinery. Ngā tamariki have also demonstrated their ability to be patient and shown resilience while adapting to the changes. They have thoroughly enjoyed the new playground which included a new soft turf, construction area, garden corner, nature play reserve, sandpit, fencing, and many more wonderful additions! Our playground is inclusive and provides plenty of space for our tamariki of all abilities to develop their gross motor skills and enjoy lots of free play.

A variety of sensory experiences has been very popular for our pēpis in ngā teina. Following on from our playground upgrade we have also begun to focus on creating our garden, and that’s off to a great start too. We are in the process of planting lots of veggies and flowers to admire and enjoy. Kaiako Julie enjoys gardening and along with the tamariki, appreciates nature, looking after our garden, and connecting with Rongomātāne.
