During the months of August and September, we were in lockdown level 4 because of Covid pandemic. We had organised zoom mat times for morning and afternoon to connect with our tamariki and whanau. We did story telling, singing songs and rhymes. Our Cook, Aunty Ruth also provided easy recipes via story park to cook at home as our children missed the center kai.

Everyday our kaiako put activities and videos on Story Park displaying  the 16 areas of play so they had different experiences. We all became, creative and innovate. Our whanau helped our tamariki in making ‘Father’s Day cards and saying something about their dads, and we also celebrated Tongan Language week and Māori Language week where we dressed up, did some cultural music and movement with them as well as learning cultural words.

BestStart@ home provided us with great opportunity to stay connected and being able to see and talk with our friends and teachers.
