Our personal everyday heroes!
This month our wonderful Home of the Brave Team facilitated a beautiful superheroes celebration to shine a spotlight on the strong Tane and Wahine that raise our beautiful tamariki. Our tamariki were ecstatic to be celebrating their personal everyday superheroes. Here at Home of the Brave we pride ourselves on working in kotahi-tanga (unity) with our whanau and our community to create a safe and nurturing environment for our tamariki to learn to spread their wings and flourish.
Here at Home of the Brave we believe all tamariki deserve and need Aroha to thrive. Although challenging, putting time aside each day to spend with them and show them healthy love and affection is essential for the healthy brain growth and development of tamariki.
Our superhero extravaganza was filled with yummy hot kai, kindy-made fudgy brownies, and organized activities. These festivities included a boxing ring, superhero face painting, magnetic fishing, Mahi ᾱ- ringa (manipulative play) with trains, and tᾱrai rᾱkau (carpentry). Activities were specifically designed to provide opportunities for tamariki to spend quality time with their special everyday superheroes. As whanau, tamariki, and kaiako gathered together we engaged in an evening of Aroha, kai, and lots of korero as we hosted our special event. Some tamariki even got the chance to paint the faces of their special superheroes and their kaiako!
