Our Poppy Day Visitor
We had a special visitor at BestStart Regent Kindy. A veteran solider, Bill, who went to the Vietnam War shared with us the stories of soldiers saving women and children, as well as people from other places like Gallipoli and France. To honour and remember the brave men and women who helped protect and save others’ lives, Soldier Bill shared some bright red poppies for the children to wear on their chest to celebrate Poppy Day, as well as ANZAC Day. How awesome!
The children also made their own colourful poppies that are beautifully hanging on the walls of kindy to celebrate diversity and as a symbol of hope, aroha and rangimarie in light of the recent shooting incident at Christchurch.
